This website provides information about our bookshop, events, and contact details. Unless otherwise stated, online purchases are not processed through this site — books and gift cards are sold in store. Forms on this site (newsletter signup, contact) are for communication purposes only and do not constitute a binding contract until we confirm an order or booking separately.
2. Permitted use
You may use this website for lawful, personal, and non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:

4. Event registration and communications
Event dates and descriptions on this site are subject to change. We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule events due to weather, author availability, or other circumstances. Where registration is required, confirmation will be sent by email. Our liability for cancelled events is limited to refunding any fee paid for that specific event.
5. In-store purchases
Products purchased in our Cobourg shop are subject to separate in-store policies communicated at the point of sale. New books may be exchanged within 14 days with receipt and in resalable condition, unless otherwise marked. Special orders are non-refundable once placed with the publisher. Gift cards are non-refundable and do not expire under Ontario law.

Our website may link to external sites (for example, publisher pages or community partners). We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of third-party websites. Links do not imply endorsement.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
This website is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Quay Street Books and its owners, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of this website. Our total liability for any claim relating to the site shall not exceed one hundred Canadian dollars (CAD $100), except where liability cannot be excluded by law.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under the laws of Ontario.
